How do I search for a bathroom?
Use the search bar at the top of the app to search by location name, neighborhood, or address. Results update in real-time as you type. You can also browse by neighborhood using the filter pills below the search bar.
How do I get directions to a bathroom?
Tap on any bathroom listing to view its details, then tap the "Get Directions" button. This will open Apple Maps with turn-by-turn navigation to that location. You can also tap the address to copy it to your clipboard.
What do the cleanliness ratings mean?
Each bathroom is rated on a 1-5 star scale based on cleanliness, maintenance, and overall quality. A 5-star rating indicates an exceptionally clean facility with premium amenities, while lower ratings may indicate more basic public restrooms.
Why are some locations marked as "Members only"?
Some of our curated locations, like Equinox gyms, are only accessible to members. We include these because members may find them useful, and we clearly note access requirements in each listing's details.
How are locations selected for the app?
Every location in NY Pee is hand-picked and personally verified. We prioritize clean, accessible bathrooms in convenient locations across NYC. We focus on quality over quantity to ensure every listing meets our standards.
Does the app work offline?
Yes! All bathroom data is stored locally on your device, so you can browse listings without an internet connection. However, you'll need internet access to get directions through Apple Maps.
